Hey Pink Tribe readers! Thank you for checking in to the second feature in our Women in Business Rock Series. Today we have another formidable woman to introduce to you, award winning serial entrepreneur Kyshira Moffett, MBA. Let’s get to it!
Pink Intrigue: Kyshira, firstly I would like to say thank you for taking the time to have a chat with us. Can you please introduce yourself to our fabulous readers?
Kyshira: I’m an award winning serial entrepreneur, author and speaker. I launched my business first as a career and personal branding consultant. My niche was using social networks such as LinkedIn to build your brand. Then, I had the pleasure of working with entrepreneurs and taught them how to use social media to gain sales and new client inquiries. Since then, I’ve fallen in love with helping entrepreneurial women build irresistible brands that are impossible to ignore. Now, as a brand strategist, I help women package their expertise, brand their brilliance and monetize their online presence.
I am also the owner of Life of a Bombshell Cosmetics, a luxury cosmetics line for today’s go getter.
Pink Intrigue: When did you start your business, and what was your ultimate motivation to do so?
Kyshira: Initially my main goal was to help my peers become unstuck. I knew the power of personal branding and networking. I witnessed first hand how those two concepts combined could create limitless opportunity. I wanted to teach others how to build strong brands and take ownership of their careers.
Pink Intrigue: If you could describe your business in one word, what would it be?
Pink Intrigue: What is your key mission?
Kyshira: My key mission is to help women realize their power and understand that when they are equipped with the proper tools and resources, anything is possible.
Pink Intrigue: What makes you tick as a businesswoman and influencer?
Kyshira: I’ve been extremely driven since childhood. I was always encouraged to try my best and get good grades. With each accomplishment, I craved more. These days, my accomplishments have more meaning. With each person I help, I want to help 5 more. There is no better feeling to me than helping women unlock their potential.
Pink Intrigue: What Challenges have you faced as an entrepreneur and how have you overcome those challenges?
Kyshira: One of the biggest challenges I faced was learning how to work when I didn’t feel like it. Entrepreneurship is more than gold office supplies and trips to Starbucks. You still have to work when you aren’t feeling inspired. You still have to produce when you aren’t feeling as creative. Obviously you have to take time off to avoid burnout, but if you only work when you feel like it, accomplishing your goals will feel impossible.
Pink Intrigue: Black female entrepreneurs are the fastest growing group of entrepreneurs in the USA. Why do you think this is?
Kyshira: We’re strong, resilient and resourceful by nature. We’re also the most educated group in the country. We understand that entrepreneurship is a major key to financial gain and wealth development for our families. Entrepreneurship isn’t just owning a store on the block. It’s investing in real estate, coaching, consulting, products, etc. We leverage our talents outside of just having a 9-5.
Pink Intrigue: Do you have a daily routine that helps motivate and push you to succeed?
Kyshira: My routine changes regularly depending upon what’s going on, but a few things I ensure happen daily include: -Making sure I drink plenty of Water -I read a few pages of a book -I make sure I laugh. I know that one may seem silly but laughter is healthy and can cure any bad mood.
Pink Intrigue: Favorite quote?
Kyshira: Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway
Pink Intrigue: Favorite female boss.
Kyshira: So many! Some of my favorites include Erica Nicole of YFS Magazine, Miss Diddy LA, Myleik Teele, and Arian Simone.
Pink Intrigue: Do you have any recommended personal development books?
Kyshira: A few of my favorites are Profit First, The Power of Broke, Never Eat Alone and of course my book, Bombshell of All Trades. All of these titles are available on Amazon.
Pink Intrigue: Goals for 2018?
Kyshira: My goals include releasing my next book project, increasing my client roster and landing more speaking engagements.
Pink Intrigue: Do you have any advice for up and coming entrepreneurs?
Kyshira: Learn how to do your research. As an entrepreneur, you have to be resourceful. There won’t always be someone there to answer your questions. No one owes you anything so don’t be upset when someone you don’t know doesn’t reply to your DM seeking help. If you find yourself really struggling, HIRE A COACH. Don’t be afraid to invest in yourself. Not only is it worth it, but it will make the journey a lot easier. Entrepreneurship isn’t cheap *lol*.
Pink Intrigue: If you could write a letter to your teenage self, what would it say?
Kyshira: I think my teenage years were great. I had exposure to a ton of opportunities. I guess I would tell myself to take advantage of more! One regret I have is not taking advantage of study abroad opportunities in high school.
Pink Intrigue: If you can change anything pertaining to business decisions, what would you change?
Kyshira: Looking back, what would you have done differently in business? I would have started charging my worth a lot sooner.
Pink Intrigue:Kyshira, you have a successful business, you are inspiring and motivating people to change their lives. What do you know for sure?
Kyshira: If you show up, give your 100% best, invest in yourself when you can, and commit to excellence, you will achieve everything you desire and more.
